I suggest you buy a smartphone with 3G or 3.5G supports. I have been in your situation when i decided to buy a modem. But later i found it's better for me to buy Nokia 6120c since the price is almost same with a modem. I bought a used one, not a brand new. So far i never find any problem with it. Whenever i want to use the internet on my PC or laptop, all i need to do is just plug my mini usb cable on my mobile phone and plug it to my PC or laptop. Or if i want to surf quickly, i can do it just from my mobile phone which is 3.5G supports. Please make sure you have choose a suitable isp before decide to buy which one. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Do you mean Mobile Internet with an USB plugin for your laptop? To make sure the costs don't go to the moon, make sure you have a flat fee prescription with your ISP. In other words make sure there is no data limit. If you follow my advice you can rest assured about the costs.

Well my friend, i am also using modem plug-into my laptop, as i had to travel to my parents in-law house a few days in a week. I feel it is more convenient to me. I had bought and tried using the 3G handphone but it's always jam. Because it's not suitable to my parents in-law area. So, recently, i tried this modem and it works very well for me..Since, you are also from Malaysia, you try to check for Digi or Maxis modem. Make sure that, it support your area before you purchased it..Good luck...
