Well library and internet came out from different times. Before internet came out, library was our unique place to study and research. But now, more and more people prefer suffering on the internet to study. After all, it's a more convenient way. I miss those time I spent in the college's library, but I think internet is a better place.

I prefer going to the library. This is because of many reasons. Once I'm on the internet, I have this bad habit of staying online and I wont concentrate on my studies. Instead I would be chatting with friends and what not. The other reason is, it's easier to read from a book than from the screen, as it strains the eyes and you cannot really read for a long time. Apart from that I like to hold the book in the hand as it gives the effect of reading. But alas, the library we have doesn't have books that we need, so we have to stick to the internet to get our notes for the exams. bourne

When i was in school most of the time we spent in the grounds or in the library . If it was raining outside we used to go to library. If we had bunked a class we would be in the library. After leaving school i visited library's very rarely. In colleges most of the we used to spend in classes and after leaving college i till now never went to library. Thank to this discussion i will try to visit library once a week.

I do a lot of my research on the net, but I still like going to the library to get books to read and to do more research. I sometimes find books while I am surfing the net to check out at the library.

I spend a lot of time surfing the internet in the library ;) I'm currently a college student and since my school's library has a coffee shop on the lowest level, I tend to end up spending a goode deal of time there, working on homework and research, and as there is wireless, I'm pretty much always online via my laptop. The librarians really dont tend to bother us much in the library, unless we're on the quiet floors and talking, in which case they might ask us to go to a different floor if we want to talk or to get one of the study rooms.

When I was in high school internet is not yet that popular. Besides I was in the province and it is not easy to find a shop. Then when I was in college I studied here in the city. Almost everything is done using the internet. My first two years were spent most in libraries because professors do require certain books. During my last two years internet were the most influential sources. So I decided to stick with the use of internet. I see some advantages of internet use for research and other purposes. Internet is more accessible because there a lot of computer shops in the road. It saves time because you can easily find information about a certain topic when you want to by just typing it in search box of search engines. It saves effort in photocopying pages of books because all you have to do is to save the desired information and have it printed. You have a better copy and more original because you can edit it. It is very hard to find topics in a book because first you have to sign a piece of paper for the librarian to get the book for you. That happens in some sections of the library in our school. But in some sections you are the one to find the book you need. Time consuming because once you have the book you need to spend another time looking for the topic and the page where it is located. Then in most cases the topic you want is either too general or too specific. Tendency is you will look for another book to be used. While using the internet is so fast, it also filters information and the more specific the topic you are looking for the more results will be given to you. I do not now what will happen if there is no internet. What I am sure is it is a big help to all of us and it is already part of our daily life.
