I steam them. They come out so juicy and soft. I've never baked them that's a first.

Steaming asparagus makes them tasteless, while baking them you can add any spice of your choice.Adding spice(s) to the asparagus while its bakes allows the spices to bake into the asparagus, giving it wonderful flavor(s)).

I steam mine on the stove with a steamer pot, then I sprinkle just a little bit of sea salt on them and once I put them in the serving bowl, I put some butter and garlic in with them.

i take a bunch cut 1 inch off the bottom, put fork holes 2 inches up, lightly cover in olive oil, the straight stuff, not evoo. take a frying pan, put 3 teaspoons of oil in the pan mixed with margarine not butter, butter will burn. heat until just starting to smoke put in the spears than turn down as not to burn. keep moving them until as soft as you like and they start to get toasty brown. get some parmesan cheese and cover until that get toasty. if you like marinated artichokes, you can slice as many as you like and add those, also roasted red peppers, some sweet basil, experiment with it, add what you like or just savor it with the cheese. asparagus are great for the kidney's, their the toxic removers for the liver and kidneys.
