I am fond of using different color of pencil or pen. When I was young I used to asked my parents to buy me pens with different color. One time during our writing lesson I decided to use red pen. I was doing my task when my teacher go around and look at our task. When she was at my side, she suddenly scream and said we a horrible voice that my task is wrong and I need to change it for I am not using the correct pen. I really don't understand her for I am very young at that time. Since then I lost my desire on collecting colored pens. How about you have you ever experience using Red pen? How will you react if somebody force you to change what type of pen you need to use?

Here maybe only the accountants will have a chance to use the red pen. As red words means breakup here. If a friend writes to you in red ink, that means to say the friendship between each other is over. This is why we never write anything in red. I love China

Well i've never been stopping from or screamed at for using other color pens than asked. This is because i'm so obidient that i'm always with the crowd and following what's being told to do. The common pens i use are blue and black ones. I'll use pens of other colors only when decorating or writing a birthday card for my friends, and still i'm not using red pens, haha. The only period of time when i use red pen is during my days as a teacher in school. Red pens are used to mark exercise books and commenting on students' work.

I believe a pen is a pen as it is used for the same purpose, to write. But sometimes, to facilitate marking student's answers, teachers use red pens as this attract our attention the most. We see its effect because as we see our answer sheet, our eyes fall mainly where red pen has been used. Me, personally, i like using black pen to write and i use red pen only to correct any self-work i've done. If someone force me to change the type of pen i am using, i would surely want to know the reason behind it.If i get a valid reason i will accept otherwise i won't.

Well globally I think the red pen is used only for corrections so no wonder your teacher was livid. I don’t use red pen for writing but for correcting my son’s copies. Otherwise I prefer using black pen, I like the bold writing of the black colour. I don’t like writing with blue ink.

Yes i have tried using red pen too. But like you, i was also once scolded for i am using the red pen in writing a formal note. We are not allowed to write red pen when we are writing for something formal. Since then, i trained myself to only use my red pen when checking papers. Doing the checking, i really love to use red pen, it is like you are also a teacher. Just like you too, i am fond of using colored pens, and i started to like doing that was at my last year in highschool. Because of my sister, i always borrow her colored pens and bring it at school. With that, i started to like it and i always ask my mom to buy me one too. Don't hesitate to use colored pens then, you can use it while doing scrapbooks. But always put in mind that the wise pen of all time is black.

You are lucky you have parents who can still buy you things especially different colours of pen, maybe it is expensive. I wish I can have that collection too. I also remember during my elementary years almost all the teachers in our school doesn't want us to use red pens for writing activity. But there is one teacher who happened to be my favorite teacher. She is a very soft spoken lady and have a good heart too, she encourages us to write our writing task and she wont mind if we will use any kind of ink as long as we have our output. And I think I learn from her.

Since you mentioned it, I remember using different colored pens when I was a kid and loving to write a lot. My brother has always called me a pencil pusher...meaning that I don't really have any specific job or skill that I always stick to, but I am usually do something that requires a lot of writing, like filling out applications or underwriting logs. But, most teachers have a tendency to do all of their markups and corrections in red ink. I remember my teachers asking us to use blue ink. Nowadays, people usually want you to use black ink to fill out forms and such. I recently bought a pack of colored pens (for training in a job that didn't work out), and ended up having fun writing to my niece with them. Hope you will some day go back to writing with your colored pens as well!

The only thing I could remember about red pens is that they are not allowed to be used whenever you write something. Most government offices require a black pen when you use and write on the forms they provide. They do not even allow blue pens. When I was in school, I only use black and blue pens and red pens are used when we (I and all of my classmates) exchange our papers and check each others work. I do not like red so much so it was okay for me way back then if teachers do not allow red to be used. But when I had my diary before I used a red pen for the dates so that they are easily located. Anyway I also had a time of my life when I collected pens with different colors in it. I never got scolded by teachers because of red pen because before we started writing they already informed us of what is only allowed.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Still it is a nice hobby of collecting different colours of pens, even they give you bad experience. Now I am old enough to understand that if we have water as universal solvent maybe black ink is the official ink for documents. God bless. Can you add me as your friend?

I use red pen all the time! Why? Because I am a teacher myself. LOL. I need to use red pen when marking my student's papers or books. I use blue pen for other purposes and coloured pens for craft works.

In my school days, we are taught to use only black or blue pen. Red is a pen for the teacher! And further nowadays working in the society, I only fancy with black pen. I don't fancy the colour, but I fancy the pen tip and pen size and design. However, I will use red pen on things that need my attention. The older generation even believe that only if you are cursing someone, that you use the red pen in writing their name.
