I believe that the human mind(or brain) has 2 different parts : one which directs the conscience of the person and the other which directs his "wants" without considering about the conscientious part of the mind. Now a person's nature is greatly influenced by these 2 parts and vice-versa. Therefore, if a person limits himself or herself to being involved as much as possible with the conscientious part, they can dominate their own behaviour. It isn't easy to achieve this as you will find the word conscientious itself means "the trait of being painstaking and careful, or the quality of acting according to the dictates of one's conscience". However, if one just gives up to the "wants" part, he or she is most like to lose control of their body and will only follow their wants.
