Porsche,Volkswagen announce merger plan

Luxury car maker Porsche and Europe's biggest auto producer Volkswagen agreed on Wednesday to forge a merge German car giant, stepping up the momentous changes shaking the industry worldwide.
A special meeting of their boards and key shareholders in Salzburg,Austria gave themselves four weeks to agree a tie up.

It should be very interesting to see a: how this affects the various workers, how many will be laid off or shuffled to different areas of the companies and b: how this will change the design of both iconic companies.
