Do you think working mothers balance their domestic and professional life ?

I had a working mother who used to juggle between professional and domestic life. She was forced to do so because I lost my father at a very young age. My mother was the epitome of sacrifice for me and she handled both aspects of life with aplomb. But with stress levels increasing on both fronts do you think working mothers can now handle both aspects effectively? My take would be that it is increasingly becoming difficult for mothers. the fact that couples are now deferring having children to augment their careers confirms my belief...but it is open for debate in this forum!
