The trilogy consisting of -- The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye and The Ptolemy's Gate are fantasy novels revolving around Bartimaeus and Nathiniel. It involves spirits like the imps, djinis and afrits etc. Bartimaeus is a five thousand old djini with mid level power along with Nathaniel (also known as John Mandrake) who is a magician and Kitty Jones who is a commoner. A lot being similiar to Harry Potter, this series is yet a lot different from Harry Potter series. The commonors are fully aware of the magicians and who they are and of their interference in the politics. Or rather their dominance. A typical drama involving politics, magic, and various emotions.
