Is a Forrest enough for a Spider?

I was able to watch Anderson Silva's last fight with Leites, which I believe is one of his poorest outing in the MMA. Even by explaining why he didnt elicit the same excitement that he normally does in the octagon, it is clear that the weight class lacks the level of competition he needs to bring out his best. Here comes a former light heavyweight champion in Griffin, who is a well-known fan favorite. Is he enough to bring the Spider to its old self? What do you think?

Hello deouscef, I think Anderson Silva will be back to his old ways for sure with Forrest because he is a well known fighter. I do think that Anderson Silva will knock out Forrest Griffin in the first round. Happy myLotting!

sorry for this late reply... yeah, i do think silva would win as well. but i wish forrest could extend it beyond the 1st round and take the game on the ground. he doesnt stand a chance by doing a stand-up game.

His just a one hit wonder UFC fighter. Griffin dont have skills at all, thats my point of view. Silva's era is fading off on is last fight. A newcomer is up for grabs now for the championship belt. But still spider is kicking some butts on the ring.

Griffin is from a bigger weight class and though he is not as well-rounded as other fighters in terms of skills, he can still sneak a few lucky shots on the champion. Luck can really land you a championship in the MMA I guess. I agree that Silva is about to fade, but I do hope that we can still see Silva fight a few more years and put on some exciting fights to cap his career.

A well-known and good fighter like Griffin will surely bring out the Spider's old self. He surely won't underestimate Griffin's skills as fighter because Griffin poses a legit threat to Silva. i just hope the fight won't result into an upset. Still rooting for Silva, KO/TKO on the 1st or 2nd round.

My personal opinion I think Forrest doesnt have a chance against Anderson Silva. When Anderson Silva moved up to fight James Irvin it ended in the first round. Anderson Silva is too quick and can out smart Griffin. The last fight Silva vs. Leites was a tough one because Leites is going be very good in the future of UFC and is a rising star in the company. My prediction for this fight is TKO in the 2nd

Definitely a good card is in the books if UFC can get it going for Griffin versus Silva. I can see perhaps one of the highest grossing matches ever put up by UFC matchmakers reminiscent of Ortiz Vs Liddell or Couture Vs Liddell. For one, the fact that these guys are either on the uphill or downhill phase of their career is relevant since the star power of both these superstars are undiminished. These fighters are easily marketable and their huge fan base are not hard sell. And yes you hit the nail in the head there that love him or hate him, Anderson Silva is the best pound for pound fighter out there and the reason why he delivers such boring fights because no legit challenger has been given to him. Rich Franklin vs Silva 3 would be boring either. Dan Henderson is legit and the perfect fighter to give me a good fight but Anderson proved other wise. So who's gonna be the fighter not only good to fight Silva but also give an exciting fight? If Liddell is not the choice griffin would be it. Both men are well rounded and got excellent ground games and the possibility of both fighters deciding to keep it a stand up fight is exciting. Will griffin be enough for silva in fighting skills? Definitely yes. His toughness is legendary and griffin's knockout power is not underrated. Silva destroys his opponents with vicious punching power and laser precision strikes so its important to have a fighter tough enough to withsrand his attacks and its griffin.

I can see Forrest coming out with a win or at very least keeping it close. I do not see however Forrest channeling the power of Thalies Leites and employing the form of a turtle. Point is it should be an exciting fight.
