What do you have near you??

What do you like about the area you live in... do you have really fun restaurants to go to that are unique..... or do you have a fun museum near you.... or what about a popular beach?? I live basically in Detroit, Michigan and I have some great areas to go to visit in Michigan... such as if we want a nice day out we have great state parks... also we have several beaches.... a couple hours drive and we have sand dunes that are a great weekend getaway.... we are surrounded by lakes..hence "the great lakes state" .... during the summer we have a ton of festivals like the "HO-Down" with tons of country singers/groups that come to town...there is also "The International Taste Fest" where 60 of our local restaurants set up tents and serves selections of there food.... we have the fireworks on the forth of July down in Hart Plaza.... we have the Renaissance Festival that comes in end of August and runs through September... what types of things do you have near you that you get to enjoy??
