I just wonder why couples give chocolate during Valentine's day, as it is part of tradition? What is the story or history behind it? I just want to know.

As others said chocolates express our love for our partners. That is why couples like to gift each other chocolates to symbolize their love for each other. I am not aware of any history behind this. But I always gift and get gifted with chocolates on Valentine's day.

I know there's a history behind it. I think I've read somewhere, I just forgot it. Ever since before, that was a long long time ago, it's been like a tradition to give chocolates during Valentine's Day. Maybe because it's sweet and because this day is about sweetness.
