I just learned that a distant relative of mine has passed. We were not that close but we saw each other occasionally. Have you every just had people in your life that you didn't see much but really admired? Well this is one of those people, he really worked hard in the local area here, was a member of the city council, worked with the voting committee every voting day that we had. I am just used to seeing him around. I was told he died of a massive heart attack. You are here one day and gone the next, it really is a tough pill to swallow. I will miss him, I know voting now will not be the same. I am used to going to him for directions and advice.

Yes I have, several times. It does shock us, doesn't it? It goes to show that life is short especially to some of us few who's lives end at such a rather young age. I lost my fiance 18 years ago when our house caught fire and burnt to the ground. I didn't know about it till later on that day that the event even happened. What a shocker when I heard the news. Try to know this, he's in a much better place and isn't feeling any pain now. May he rest in peace!

Hi chevee~I am so sorry about your relative's passing. I do understand what you mean though. Even though you don't see someone that often and you aren't really close, you can still admire them and respect them and be used to seeing them around. And knowing that they won't be around anymore is sad. I know you will miss him and I am sorry for that.
