I was wondering how many people out there actually get the recommended daily servings of all the food groups they are supposed to. I personally don't. I am allergic to milk and don't like white milk to begin with so the only way I can get my milk intake is to drink it and put up with the nasty belly ache or eat other things with milk that potentially make my stomach upset. I don't eat much fruit unless it is the summer time. I also don't eat all too many veggies as I don't like barely any of them. Meat I definetly get enough of each day. I love my meat (pork, chicken & beef only) Do you get all your recommended servings in a day?

tHIS IS a nice topic for discussion, because this topic concerns about health and I do not get enough food what is recomended for me, I am a 24 year guy with nder weight and with a vegetarian food habit so doctor has recomended me to take milk and fruits sufficiently but my financial problem does not support me to have all these foods so I am taking what ever food I am getting but I beleive that if we take food as per the recomendation so not a single disease can touch our body

Thanks for your comment :) I understand what you mean, I am considered underweight too. I don't have a problem with it though as I don't want to gain any weight, but I think my eating has ALOT to do with it as I am not very physically active. I have 2 kids I chase around but I don't exercise or anything like that. I kind of think the food guide is just in general and not for everyone.... or I would be able to have milk...lol

Of course not. I'm working full-time and have other 2 PT jobs. Also have a family and a house to run. I try always to have in the house everything for a good nutrition, but as my kids are not little anymore, they eat whatever they can find on the go. No more meals together beside the family table. So, almost no one is getting the right nutrition from food.I mean, not daily. Only from time to time, when we find the time ti be all together.Thank I make the best to have everything good and nutritional. I buy vitamins supplements, and insist that everyone takes them. Not so good, but still better then almost nothing.

No, I don't subscribe to any of those charts. I am not physically active, and if I ate that much food, I'd explode! Actually, I'm a rather small person, and tend to eat many smaller meals; I think I eat three large meals a YEAR but those days I might only eat that one meal. It's not healthy, but that's what I do. I am trying to eat better though--instead of white bread, I'll eat whole wheat; I eat lean meats (less beef, more chicken); I'll eat salsa because I'll eat the veggies in it; I don't drink milk (except in cereal) but I'm trying to have yogurt, cream cheese and cottage cheese--I AM trying!
