In the sentence " If we can learn to tap into that unconscious, subconscious,and dormant ninety-five percent of our brain power, the results can be amazing.", what's "tap into", does it mean " approach"?

maybe more like "access" or "connect to"?
it's like reaching into your brain for information,as you would an object in a box.
