Could anyone explain what a sea monkey is and how long theyve been around?

I did have some sea monkies but they all died they were weird little things you could even see little black dots in there bellies when they were pragnant. But what are they? where did they come from?

hi there, misspinkbang..
i did a little researcha and found out that sea monkeys are actually a hybrid of brine shrimp. they are products of aquaculture technology and were conceived in the 1960s.
