Comments on my Blogs That Drive Me Crazy

For me blogs are about making money online. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy blogging about the topics I choose for the most part. I do have blogs that are not hobbies or even interests but they make me money. So I am a business man working blogs so I can enjoy more of my hobbies and interests. When I get comments that say "Nice blog" or "Good article" and then a link back to a site that isn't even relevant to my content. I just click the spam button and get rid of them. I don't mind it so much if it's just a comment without a link back to their site. How about you, what do you do with comments that add absolutely nothing to your blog?

Spam comments are just something you are going to have to deal with. No matter what measures you take spammers are extremely resourceful and will find their way around them. The only thing to do with them is delete them and move on. You can try blocking their ip but they most likely are using a proxy anyway.

I don't mind deleting those comments or marking them as spam but what really gets me is that they don't take the time to say something useful. :)

They don't take time because they are too busy looking for more blogs to spam rather than contribute anything.

Those spamming comment is definately make the blog owner crazy. I think it is happen to all the blogger around the world. I have to spend some time to delete all those spamming comment, not only short comment but also long comment not not related to the topic at all such as "The xxx.com is good, you shall visit it". No doubt, all the spamming comment will definately deleted.

Yeah those spammers get under my skin for sure, but I am also talking about those people that have legit sites and want links back to them. They are even relevant to my own blogs but they can't take the time to add value to the discussion. So even if their site is good I just delete the comment as it doesn't add value to my discussion. So they drive me nuts as well. :)

The reason is most of those spammer actually are using software call auto-commentor to leave comment, mean they are not reading the post at all

I was lucky before because only online and personal friends responded to my comments in my blog when it was open before. There was only 1 spammer as far as I can remember and I sort of ignored his comment but did not delete it. I think that those spammers can be irritating at times but I just have the ignore button on and worst come to worst I would just delete them off.

I don't usually have that problem because my blogs are mainly about a particular interest area and those that visit and leave comments share those interests and post accordingly. There will be the occasional post that refers back to their site, but it is usually only because they think it might be of interest to me because of the topic, and it's not really spamming. If I did get a number of them like you mention, I would delete and move on.

Excellent, it's always nice to hear that some people get the right comments.

To me, if the comments aren't related to the blog they're spam. Like you, I try to delete all the spam comments that come along. Who needs the aggravation? It only takes a minute to type out a legit comment and post it with your url. Sometimes if the person seems to be a new blogger, I'll send an email and point out the errors of the email's ways. That works about 5% of the time.

I wonder if spammers ever stop to consider that that kind of behavior makes someone less likely to visit their site? probably not, or they'd stop doing it.

This drives me insane too! Especially those comments like "hope you had fun!". I also get rid of those nonesense comments. I bet they didn't read the whole post. It's so unfair for me because I know for myself that no matter how long their post is, I still read it. It's just plain sick. And then they will ask you to comment back! Do you know what I do? I give them a rubbish comment too. Hehe.
