The bible is a wonderful book. It is good to have the word in our heard, because when struggles and persecution comes you will have the word as comfort. I tried to read the entire book. I is very exciting in some chapters, but is a little boring in others. But one of the thing that make it exciting, when one can understand the context and why it is written and why they cote certain things and refer to certain things then one wont be confused. A lot of people will say that some of the old testament is boring but some part of it is giving you a run down of the blood line and where Jesus family falls. Overall I truly enjoy the bible. It give me wisdom and boldness to serve God better and defend the cause.

Hey willy.. I believe the reason why you may find the bible boring is that you are reading it like a story book which is not how to approach the bible. This is how I describe the bible: B asic I nstructions B efore L eaving E arth The bible consists of a collection of 166 books. Each book was designed to give you an insight into not only history but explain to you who God is, what he has done and how he can be a part of your life even today. You have to have a pattern and a guide on how to read and understand the bible, so that you find it more enjoyable. Here's a few pointers: 1) Start with the new testament. Read first Gospel Mark, then Mathew, Luke and John. 2) Go to the old testament and read Genesis and Exodus. 3) Then Go back to the new testament and read Romans, Corinthians.. Follow that pattern. You will definetly understand the bible more and it will be more than just a book to you. Reading from Genesis straight to Revelation will wear you out and it wont do you much good.. Take your time reading.. dont rush through.. Hope this helps you.... happy my lotting

Hi Willy, I will not say that I study the bible. I have read through the Bible 2 times, cover to cover. I completed the entire Bible in 20 months, in English language. I used Bible with footnotes and cross referencing. There are so many sentences made by Jesus and the apostles referencing to the Old Testament. It is very tough the first time. The second time I completed the entire Bible in slightly more than a year. I read the Chinese version. Since I was more familiar with some parts of the Bible, I did not spend a lot of time turning the pages here and there. Learn a lot and view God as a personal friend, even though it's impossible to know why he needs to take certain actions. Find that the God I read in the Bible is different from what my Christian friends are peaching. It's very sad that as Christians, they do not make the effort of reading the Bible, and I as an outsider, have completed twice. They did argue that serving God is out of love, not of knowledge. I told them, if God does not want you to know him, why has he commissioned the Bible? The fact that an ancient book (Bible) has survived till our times, meant that He wants all to read, regardless Christian or no Christian.

Yes, I do agree with you. Bible is a living proof of our great relationship with God. I also read bible every now and then. Every time I read bibles, all frustrations, disappointments, rejection and troubles fade away, it seems I am a complete person. We can learn a lot of wisdom through reading bibles, it is a complete picture of our faith and an accurate explanation why we should believe in our Faith. Never mind other people who did not believe in the Bible or God, just pray for them for some enlightenment. Well, Jesus Christ did not come to the world to be with saints but to save sinners, He did not come to us to persecute and punish us but He came down to grant us mercy.

Its a good thing you find the bible a wonderful book. I hope you will get rid of that boredom you feel when you read the bible because God is not a boring being. You can a lot of wisdom from Him and instructions to guide you in your life. I study and read the bible everyday and I had finished reading it 3 times and now I'm in my 4th reading.

Yes, I agree with you about how wonderful the Word of God is. I was raised from a baby going to church and hearing scripture read and preached. What's so amazing to me is that I have been given the opportunity live and to see so much of the prophecy fullfilled. As a young girl, I heard that there would come a time when we would have to have a mark in order to buy or sell and I remember thinking that something like that could not happen and thirty and forty years ago, it did seem unthinkable but as I say now, we could wake up tomorrow and our money system as we know it could be no more and some other money system could demand such a thing. I'm sure we're already set up for it. Needless to say, if ever I took the Bible lightly, it is not now because I see it all playing out each day. It's my Foundation and takes me to the Rock.

I have studied the Bible for many years now. When I first started to study I found parts of it very boring. Especially the parts where the lineage was established. My mom explained that while the names of people didn't mean anything to me, they were great and very important in the times that the Bible was written and their mention was worthy of my respect. Since then I read the names and try to pronounce them correctly and have enjoyed Bible study more and more every day. If anyone is wanting to begin a Bible study I suggest to start reading a chapter of Proverbs each day corresponding with the day of the month (today is the 27th of May so I would read the 27th chapter of Proverbs). I followed this routine for many years and those scriptures still really speak to me each time I read them.
