Windows xp cd available for free..

Hey I heard that microsoft is providing free windows xp sp3 cds to people..I think its order form is in the microsoft website...Anybody tried it?

I have seen this as well, but have not tried it. The last time I tried to update my computer to SP2 I ended up having to reformat my computer and ended up losing a lot of important programs. I am afraid to update my window's software now.

But I think that was due to your installation problem....But I don't think that will affect the genuine xp sp3 cd

I installed the software following the instructions, so I don't really know what went wrong. I know that I did lose many programs and important stuff off of my laptop though and my computer would barely function afterwards.

I'm using SP3 now but not from the CD. Microsoft also offers it as a download on their site.
