Personally I think there is a lot about computers "Yet to be seen". It is my opinion that we are making some serious mistakes in the way we are coming to depend on computers. A good example is our super markets. If the electricity goes off you can't buy anything in most stores. You can't do any banking or a number of other things that must use computers to operate. I went through this a few years back due to a large tornado that destroyed about half the electric supply in my little home town. We had to drive about a mile to reach a part of town that still had electricity before we could buy anything. Every day we are relying more and more on computers and I believe this will at some point prove to be a big mistake. Very few people, at least around here have backup generators. The hospitals, police dept and fire dept do but not many others. It is hard to even imagine how it would be if all the computers were shut down even for a short time. If you haven't gone through it you can't even start to rap your mind around it. The bad part is something like this that could cause serious problems only becomes more likely in the future. One day I hope we can learn to operate without putting all our eggs in one basket. That is exactly what we are doing right now with computers. Don't get me wrong I enjoy my PC and would really miss it but I could live without it. However it wouldn't be so easy to live without the computers at the supermarkets and other businesses we must depend on. Art

The computer is a wonderful piece of technology. It makes me wonder how this world got computer's out of land and trees and natural resources... Wow.
