Night Workers and Sleep

As a bail bond agent most of my work is at night. There are very few people who get arrested during the daylight hours. Sometimes i don't get to bed until 5 or 6 AM. Even though most people know what I do for a living, I get calls at 8 AM and they're asking me if they woke me up. I have neighbors who think I'm lazy because I'm not out mowing my lawn in the morning. I've had people ask me if I've been to an MD to see if my EXCESSIVE sleeping is a health problem. I don't turn off my phone because a call might possibly be a bond call and that is my business and income. If I have an early morning bond call, I take a nap during the day which leads to more consternation among those who come to my door or who are answered rudely. If my car is in the driveway, I must be awake - RIGHT? Sometimes it seems like the only being in my life who is respectful of my sleeping hours is my dog. Any other night workers with this problem?

I do understand how you feel at times but then you can post a sign on your door way, kind of don't disturb and all and please don't judge yourself with what people say your job is your job man as long as you are enjoying it
