Today was the first day I filled the kiddy pool. It's going to be 98 here today. When filling that pool, I remembered all the uses we put it to last year. Like giving the dogs a bath after they had met a skunk. Filling it with ice water and beer for our 50th wedding anniversary which was held outside on the hottest day of the year. And best of all filling it for the little great granddaughter for her first play in a pond, before her first birthday. When you do those repeat chores do you remember the good times?

The last time I remember doing anything with a kiddies' paddling pool was after my daughter's house warming, which coincided with my granddaughter's 3rd birthday. A number of friends were staying the night there, but we left at about ten pm to stay at another friend's house for a peaceful night. The next morning it was hot and when we returned there was a bevy of tired beauties with chairs in a circle where the bouncy castle had been the day before. The circle surrounded the pool and everyone sat drinking coffee with their feet in it while their children played on the patio. There was one spare chair for me.
