Diaper Rash

Can someone please give me their opinion on the best diaper rash ointment? My four month old daughter has developed some serious diaper rash suddenly. I don't know if it was the change in diapers, wipes, or diet, but it looks so sore. It's more on the inside of her legs, so it could be the diaper just rubs so much since she's starting to become more active. Anyway, I've tried the white creamy A&D stuff, and also the clear Vaseline looking stuff called Aquaphor. I can't remember what worked best for my next youngest, now almost 6. She's a real trooper, and not fussy about it, but I really want to help her! Thank you!

i would suggest you to consult your doctor only as if i suggest you something for your baby, i don't think that will really work of not as the skin of all is different and don't know to which cream it will react or to which it will not so better ask your doctor when its a matter of skin. but i can suggest you one thing that is put vaseline petroleum jelly before putting diapers on.

I agree, every kid is different. Just as I'm sure she is much different from her big brother, so what worked for him probably wouldn't even work. I have been putting on the Aquaphor, which really looks like Vaseline. I know that helps keep moisture out. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the inside parts of the diaper rubbing on her legs and chaffing the skin. Poor thing.

You can probably look this up on the internet somewhere, but my boyfriend's aunt uses a+d ointment and mixes it with some baby powder and corn meal. the powder and corn meal dry it up and the ointment soothes. I don't remember the measurements of each, but those are the ingredients. Look it up online and see what information you can get out of it. If it's mixed properly, it cures it in 24 hours. Good Luck!

Thank you! I knew there was something missing! With her big brother, I used the A&D, but I also always put baby powder on him at the changes. Maybe that's what I'm missing with her. I guess I need to get the powder out and try it. That really sounds familiar. Thanks again!

I've used A+D on both of mine and seemed to help...Also a lot of people think that when the child gets red its a diaper rash but it could also be the heat(if its hot where you are) where it makes them sweat and that can also cause a rash as well. But as i siad ive used A+D plud Powders that have cornstarch in them and it always seem to clear it up.
