Scripture - John 17:17 - 19 "Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified." Sanctify = The Greek word used here, hagiazo, is also; 'set apart for sacred use or make holy' In verse 17 Jesus asked His Father to sanctify, make holy, His followers 'by the truth, Your word is truth.' God's word consists of how God is a loving God and want a relationship with us.It also contains commands that He gave to Jesus and to us. In vers 19 Jesus says that He 'sanctify Myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.' This prayer of Jesus says that through obedience to God, and in Christ, we can be holy. To be holy is what God wants for us, because He is holy. Through forgiveness of our sins, washed clean by the blood of Jesus, and obedience to the truth, His word, we can be holy. Jesus said in John 13:34 and 15:12 that He gives us a new command, that we should love one another. If we want to be holy, as God wants us to be holy, we should be obedient in loving one another, and repent of our sins and believe that we are forgiven because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. May you strive daily for God's holiness. Blessings
