Strange place to make friends

What is the most unusual place that you have made a new friend? I was in IHop Restaurant one time and started talking to an 85 year old woman, I am 54, and we talked for a little while and as she was leaving, before I was finished, she commented that it was too bad we couldn't be friends. I wanted to know why we couldn't be, so we exchanged names and numbers and have gone to brunch a few times since, talked on the phone several times and I even invited her to a candle party that I went to. She is so much fun to be with and I am so glad that we started talking to each other that day.

Hi idowrite! I guess I haven't ever really met a friend in a strange place before. I'm glad you did though. Maybe I will meet a new friend in an unexpected place sometime. Take care.

You just never know, JenInTen. I sure didn't go in with the expectation of making a new friend! And you've reminded me that I need to call her. Her birthday lunch is a bit late! I DID call on or near her birthday, though! Thanks for the comments!

I don't know, I don't have too many friends. I think the most unusual friendship for me is the pen pal I know via interpal.net, he is 50 years old and I am 23. We have a gerenation gap between us, and also we are live in the different countries. Happy everyday, Idowrite72.

Thanks, Pengbubu! We don't need a lot of friends, as long as the ones we have make us happy!! LOL I have a group on yahoo that has 4 age groups.....20's, 30's, 40's and me, in my 50's. At one point, we talked about anything and everything and you would think that we were sitting at the table around coffee discussing the weather. We aren't on as much as we once were, but are still great friends. Thank you for your comments! Your picture is darling!!

Is this Marribel, that you've been telling me about? As for me, I think you know my story. LOL Getting on the same bus after afternoon, bound for the same coffee shop, I got to know the driver pretty well, and that wonderful Serbian accent of his gave us something to talk about, since I am interested in the music and politics of all the countries in the former Yugoslavia.
