What is the difference between Account Executive and Account Manager?

I have always thought that Account Manager is higher up than Account Executive.
However, I read in my advertising textbook that it's the opposite way round. So i did a google check.
Some say that it depends on each individual companies.
So which is higher? An Account Executive or an Account Manager?
