Hey mylotters, I want to know who decides which of our topics are hot and which are not? What does the the topic have to be about in order for it to be considered a hot topic? Thanks for responding.

I think it depends on ratings, how many responds it has gotten and how recently the responds where made. But I'm just guessing. This thread is a little bit misplaced isn't it?

I kind of think it is random. I mean I've seen my discussions on the hot topic list, on the today's top discussion list...And it seems to change all the time. The only thing I can come up with, is that it is chosen randomly.

I guess it depends in how many ratings it gets. It might also depend the amount of time it takes to get comments on a discussion and also how many comments, but I'm just making inferences here, I'm still new on mylot, that may not be how it actually works.
