Years ago at the age of 20, I worked for the phone co.Pacific Bell, as an Operator. On my first night of work a woman called and told me that Her Husband didn't understand her, Her children didn't understand her. She went on to say that she had taken sleeping pills, but the pills were not working. She told me that she was going to kill herself and she just wanted someone to know. I hear a loud POP. I called over my Supervisor,we kept the line open. She had the call traced. It was a phone booth. The Police called back and said the woman had shot herself. I was the last person to speak to her. I asked my Supervisor if I could go home. She said I could lie down in the break room for a 20 minutes. I don't work there anymore.

Thanks, Yeah it blew my mind. One that I was the last person to speak with her. Two that the COMPANY thought 20 mins would be enough time to sort it out and get it together.

Wow that's crazy, I don't know how I would react in a situation like that. Nothing drastic has ever happened to me at work.
