My laptop just crashes when ever I leave it for more then 20 minutes unatended?

So I cant leave it to do anything over night or do Defragmentation or anything I have to be using the laptop constantly for it to work its very odd. Is there anyway I can fix this without whiping it clean?

Does it shut of, or doesn't it react to what you do or do you get a blue screen or? It's important information. :)

It just doesnt respond there is no blue screen

Check your computer on viruses, adware and remove your cookies/temporarily stuff. If that doesn't help reply and we'll go to the next step.

Actually it seems to crash every time I make Avira do a scan

Well first thing is that many laptops get overheated and do an emergency shutdown to prevent damage to the processor. You should get a chiller for your laptop. And as said above it might just be a virus. Or maybe your virus scan itself is corrupted. You should reinstall it with a newer version to check whether that is the cause of the problem.

Which OS u r using?Currently i am experiencing the same problem with Windows vista home basic..If we r charging continously..it is getting heated up thus causes shutting down..
