I enjoy my job, but there are times that I hate it so much. Like today with instance I had just gotten there and since I work in sales I was asked by another employee to ring out a customer, that they only wanted the product. So I was like ok cool. So I took the customer to a register to ring him out. And since there are stuff that we have to offer with product but I was told that they had already gone over everything. So I did not offer anything, then a supervisor comes and asks me did you offer this or that and I was like I am not going to lie to you I did not and before I could explain he called my supervisor over and told him I did not offer anything. So at the end I got written up and "coached" for something that was not my fault at all and its time like this were I hate my job......

I think everyone hates their job at times, unless you are doing something you are passionate about, most jobs are repititous so we get a bit bored, I think people who have jobs that they are doing somethings they really love are very lucky.

I've had over 25 years of experience in retail....so I know where you are coming from. There can be many frustrating days in retail ... if you take it personally. My advice ... get used to the close scrutiny of your selling skills by management, especially in these hard economic times. I know it's a difficult situation, when you have to take over in the middle of a sale (not knowing what has transpired with the original salesperson). It is always safest to repeat your "spiel about the add-ons." Why? There have been many times when a customer has declined the first time around but has changed his/her mind when asked again by another salesperson. Actually, there was one supervisor I had, that made it a habit to interrupt while I was completing the sales invoice on a home audio package.... and go over all the accessories the customer would need for optimum performance. Of course, I had previously covered this during my sales presentation but, this "second opinion" did help re-enforce the importance of these "add-ons" for the customer. Early in my selling career, I took this action personally (like you) and felt it was questioning my selling abilities. Now, I realize it is an important sales tool to help store profits. In retail.....I discovered I would learn something new every day.

So, do you work for retail? Sometimes, it is hard to get satisfaction for everyone. You just got crucifixed. So, forgot all the unpleasant incidents. Keep on moving, otherwise, you just got yourself stuck again. You will be better next time, and you will be rewarded. Keep on going.
