Hamburger Patties

I've been attempting to make decent hamburger patties for so long, I've used so many different recipes and none of them seem to keep shape! I've used egg in the patties, and the patties would fall apart as soon as the outside was brown. I've figured out that leaving egg out and using breadcrumbs, BBQ sauce and some herb seems to work better for me, though recently, my patties have begun constantly falling apart! Help! I'm a hamburger addict because they're so easy to make at night, but all my patties seem to die on me. Does anyone here have recipes for patties that they use where the patties actually keep together? My grandmother used to make patties and they'd be perfect, but I have no idea what she put in them.

try adding flour... skip the breadcrumbs i make burger patties here also, in different varieties, ground pork, ground beef, mushroom, and even sometimes banana heart flower, and i always add flour to it, egg too, and they dont break or fall apart when i cook them. my family love those mushroom burgers i make...
