Hiking to the mountain bike

I'm with friends had to travel uphill with the use of mountain bikes. The distance that we of the approximately 20 kilometers. When climbing the steep (about 30 degrees), we do not go up strong again. How high can you climb to do with mountain biking?

Well last week I had a four days "cross-country" with a friend of mine, and even though most of the time we were on the road, we had to cross some rough terrain, I should say about the same degree or even more. But I have to admit, it was worth it as we had the chance to do some downhill too 
. In total we traveled about 400 kilometers, but that because we had our mountain bikes. And we were covered in luggage
