Hey mylotters:) The other day i was out working and everything was good until i walked up the road where there's this dog. This particular dog has a nasty temperament and has gone for me once before. On this occasion the dog was out! Usually its behind a fence so its quite safe but somehow it got out. As soon as it saw me it went for me. The reason i feel guilty is because to avoid getting bitten by the dog i kicked it away and the dog ran off:( So now i feel bad for the dog even though i was just defending myself Should i feel guilty? Mikey.

I know that this isn't the same thing but today, my little cousin was messing with his cat. And when his cat gets angry it goes insane. He was going to shake it up get it angry, and throw it at me. He was about to throw the cat when i grabbed the first thing I could reach and threw it at him trying to aim his chest. What I grabbed was a screwdriver and it didn't hit his chest- it hit his head. He sarted to break down crying and I thought he was just being a baby. But then he got up and the side of his head was bleeding crazily. He ran to the bathroom and cry for me to get his mother. Of course, this had to be after 1:00 in the morning. His parents came down to find me sobbing on the couch from guilt, and him in the bathroom sobbing from pain. Finally it was clean but it's going to turn into a scar. I know I should feel guilty but I need some sincere words to help me apologize and stop beating myself over it. Thanks.

My goodness! I too think of this kinda situation often. But what you have done is neither wrong nor right. If you have ran away, you 'might' have escaped and the dog might have been saved from your kick. So, what you have done is wrong. But on the other hand, the dog might have learnt a lesson. Next time, it'll hesitate to do this kinda thing. So, it's being saved from being hit severely by some other cruel man. So, what you have done is right. The second situation suits you the best. So, just be happy that you've saved the dog from a severe attack by some other cruel person!

In past time; every time I met nasty dog, I must squat myself and gazed direct to their eyes. It works for me where after a little while they ran away and no longer bother my walking anymore. I learned this tips from a dog trainer in Maryland, my hometown(Ocean City).

You have the right to defend yourself from getting bitten from any animal. The amount of people that let their dogs out without a second thought about other people is shameful. The only people who should be feeling guilty is the owners of the dog not you.Im like you i love animals, but i would have done the same as you to protect myself.
