I think IPL as a stage for First Class cricketers to show their talent and make their way to International cricket. Better example is Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh entry to International cricket. They were no where before IPL but they are the most successful allrounder and batsman of the IPL 2008. And now RP Singh, with his splendid performance IPL 2009, got selected to WorldT20 team India. Manish Pandey is knocking the the door. Others are Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel, Abhishke Nayar, Pragyan Ojha and many more.

money..money...money.... is all what is in the players mind.I think more than the auction system ,the IPL should evolve a performance based sytem of payment.Matthew hayden who ripped ipl 09 is 10 times cheaper than a fadin away andrew flintoff? ridiculous!!!

I agree that the main motive behind IPL is money. But the auction thing is a different issue. There is nothing the IPL comittee can do about it. Teams are desperate for the signs of the BIG PLAYERS and are ready to pay any sum for it.

The IPL is fun to watch and entertaining for sure. T20 is surely one for the future. The format though is clearly copied from club football which was disappointing. As far as the predictability factor is concerned, I really don't know what the truth is but the matches in IPL look fixed. Maybe another gimmick to mint money by the BCCI.

waste of time, its pulling people away from the traditional form of the sport. Chris Gayle decided he was going to focus more on the one day side then the test matchs which is a shame. I mean i feel that the players go there for the money and not the love of the sport anymore and its becoming more of a circus. I used to be a big fan of cricket but not now as i feel there ruining the sport.
