The end of the month in sight…what an exhilarating feeling!

This is a discussion on monthly budgets for all you people out there, who like me, do not have unlimited supply of the moolah and have to end the month within your means. Well, today is the 29th of May so the end is almost here. Every month around the end, I feel so elated when I peep into my purse and see how much I have been able to save. Its really a kind of game I play with myself every month. As per our expenditure list, we keep the money in the purse inside the cupboard and take out from there as and when required. The middle weeks are the worst…I really have to keep a tight leash on myself to see thru them and then when I am on the last week, a tidy sum has actually been saved. This month too, I intend saving around Rs. 300/- (6$) Do you have any plans like this….how do you budget out the month? Do you need to draw money from the bank midway or do you actually surprise yourself and save a little?

Hmm, nice game. I don't do such kind of thing. I use to make budget and use my ATM to withdraw money for the upcoming week. I don't put money in my house. I know it is not wise to have money in my locker most of the time but I feel that if we have an option of placing money in a safe place rather than home, then why should n't we use it. So, no, I don't see my purse at the end of the day if I have saved money!

I dont think you need to budget just as yet...I guess you are a student and your parents must be doing the real budgeting...we'll hear from you when you start a family of your own

Correct! I don't do budgeting on my own. It is my family who is doing it. My job is to withdraw money from the ATM and give it to my dad!

Hello friend. It is at the end of the month. I don't live an expensive life, so I don't think that there is anything that makes me feel bad relating to money. I have been trying to save some more money because I need to have more money to do something big for my own family. I wish to earn more and save more to fulfill my goal in life. I hold the belief that many a little makes a mickle.

Oh that's a nice line you have there...I've heard it for the first time. I have to stick to a budget coz I dont earn a huge amount of money so I really have to save for the future and for small pleasures like vacations, from there. I like the saving part though, its a challege against myself every month.

Since you are a student, its now the time for you to enjoy life. I never had any budget when I was a student myself and always had to ask for more from my parents. You are still a long way off from the fetters of marriage and budgeting and running a family…enjoy your freedom.
