How far would you go?

One of my acquaintances recently saw this gorgeous designer dress in one of her glossy magazines and when checking it's availability in this country (UK) and found it had sold out, she booked a ticket and flew all the way to America just to buy it. Just curious how far some people here would go for a designer dress, shoes or other item?

If I have a lot of money,I'll would probably scour the worldwide web for a designed dress I am lusting over.I did it actually, but on a smaller scale.I fell in love with Ked's Sailloft Navy wedge.I saw it from one of my Multiply contacts.Unfortunately,it's already sold out.I can't get the shoes of my mind,so I asked another one of my Multiply contacts to buy it for me.it costs more, but I don't mind since I love that shoes.

Glad you got the shoes you love. I suppose if you love something with passion, you would be willing to pay a little more or even travel to another country to get it. Thanks for your message.

I would not go this far but I might surely end up with $0.00 in my paypal to buy a dress by a very good designer online which I have done before and I just love it. Well I believe it is no bad to be wanting something which you can eventually buy with your own money.

Yes I suppose it must be a good feeling to be able to do something like that on a whim even if it appears a bit of an extreme step to take by others. I suppose she did get a few sights out of it as well. It just shows what people are willing to do if they want something bad enough I guess.

its both wonderful and stupid because if you can afford it then you can do it but if you cant then simply ignore it but to me a dress which costs $100000000 and a dress which costs only $1 are the same because they do the same thing, cover your body.

I think it matters to some degree what the dress looks like. I wouldn't want to wear a dress that looked like a bin bag. Thanks for your thoughts.

Your friend must be loaded or she's just mad about the item I will never go that far. Even when shopping, I will try my best to limit my budget so I won't left with nothing 'till the end of the month. Going as far as to the other state to buy it is utter madness, let alone other country. I am not really into designer items since they're kind of expensive. I'll buy them sometimes when I think I deserve it like getting a promotion so I reward myself.

I thought it was a bit mad myself. She used her savings. I love topshop clothes myself. They do some really good stuff.
