Do you keep extra money for difficult times?

Its gives a very sad feeling when you need some amount and you dont have any, but at times of distress and difficult times some money is advisable to be kept. Although in times of recession there is little money left, yet I feel something should be done for that!

For me it is hard to keep extra money as in this economic crisis, things cost so much more than they used to. You can't buy gas for $1.00 a gallon like years ago, and probably never will again. It is just so hard to make a go of it, when prices just keep going up. It doesn't seem like there will be any stop to it at all. I have tried to save money, but when I do, then I end up spending it for emergencies, which is probably ok, but I would like to be able to keep it a lot longer than have to use it like that. I just had to get my heat pump fixed as I didn't have a/c and that cost me more than I anticipated. It seems like a vicious cycle all the time. I just hope that things change one of these days, but it doesn't seem like that will happen anytime soon. Well, take care and happy mylotting.

I think that it's hard to keep extra money especially when you have kids.. and you just can not say no when they want or want to go the movies , etc .. things that are basic.. but we should try to sacrifice some money for the future from the things we don't need and we spend money into.
