My city is badly polluted by polythene bags all around the roads, lanes, public places and everywhere. The drains get blocked leading to waterlogging when it rains heavily. The local administration does not seem to be serious about it. Some civic society organisations are trying to creat awareness in this regard. But general people are not taking the matter to their heart. Rather they are contributing to the problem by doing their vegetable shopping in polythene bags supllied by retailers.Since vegetable shopping is daily afair, these bags piles up at every house and they ultimately comes to the road. One way out to reduce this piling up of throw away polythene bags is to always keep ready a non disposable bag, preferably made of jute or other decomposable fibre, whenever one goes out even if not planning a shopping. I do that.I also made some of my friends and neighbour practice this habit. Do your city face the same problem? What do you do then? You may also start keeping a bag ready with you whenever you go out whether or not for shopping. Thanks!

I agreed with you that we should do something to help save our city. Myself, also didn't use polythene bags when doing vegetable shopping. I used to bring along my decomposable fibre shopping bag, to carry my vegetables in the wet market. When the bag is dirty, i can just wash and dry it in the sun. After it had dried, i can re-use it again..As for those polythene bags that i got from the supermarket, after doing shopping there, i will keep them and re-use as my gabbage bags in my kitchen. I had saved a lot of money without having to buy gabbage bags for use in the kitchen..

I agree with you that is why I no longer use it and it's dangerous to our health too.
