For seven days, I've stayed in a home for aged for a training. I've learned so much from that place. Some elder are waiting for their time but there were some people who made sure that their lives here on earth is worth it. They are not there only to wait for their time but to inspire other lives as well. They might have dimentia, alzheimer disease or other physical disorders but they still leaving to inspire us that life is really worth it. Taking care of elder person and made them smile is the most happiest day of those 7 days.

There is wisdom beyond our comprehension in the elderly. Our society has so much misinformation. One of the falsehoods is that old people are not worth anything. I have had the privilege of typing up a few people's memories that they wanted to pass on to their children. I have learned so much by what they wrote in each case. I have a friend (40 years my senior) who talked about wanting to die in her 80's. I ask her to stop talking like that because I felt so strongly that she still had so much more to contribute to life. It was after this that she had to move to an assisted living situation closer to her daughter. When she arrived at the facility, she was not so sure about what her life would be like. In the years after, she was running Bible studies for the others in the facility and using the public kitchen (no stoves in rooms) to continue to cook and have social meals with people. Her husband worked for NASA during it's high points and she learned the fine art of teas and entertaining. She also was a travel agent and showed me how to really enjoy even a trip down the street. It really is worth it to be around our society's greatest assets, our elderly.

Yes i have visted a home for the aged. Though its not for training program like you did. Its great that you are doing work for the aged. My school supported a home for the aged and every week on fridays we'll visit the home for the aged so that we can interact with the elderly. The elderly people also looked forward to those days since that the only time when they can play with young children
