I can not handle the old -sytle C/W music such as Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, ect. But with Patsy Cline and being one fo the first cross-over, she changed C/W music to make it what it is today.

I can't stand rap and hip hop. Or are they both the same? I enjoy all kinds of music. When music is accompanied by lyrics I listen to the music first. If I don't like the music I won't even consider listening to the words. But, at the same time, hearing someone singing, especially if they have an appealing or attractive voice, compliments the music. That's one reason I don't like rap. I can't stand to hear "rapping." It's irritating. I also don't like the music. To me it's a redundant, pointless, "jungle beat." I like best the way I heard someone describe it years ago; "rap isn't music, it's dribble."

I don't like rap. As far as I'm concerned, rap is not music. It's just rhythmical talk.

Hello Jordo15 ,I can almost handle any music genre but I won't go out of my way to purchase country music. I have never really found country western music mind stimulating. On one side of my family they were fiddlers and on the other side of my family my grandfather played jazz in Chicago in the 1920's and 1930's. My ex-husband liked country music so I tolerated it but now he is out of the picture I don't listen to it anymore.

There is two types of music i can not stand the first is heavy metal as it is so loud and you can not hear or work out what words they are singing. The second type of music i do not like is jazz as it is so dull and boring and the songs are not all that great either.

I agree with you! With the exception of a very few songs, I really can't stand country/Western music. I don't like the lyrics or the musical style. I'm also not a big fan of mainstream rap/hip-hop, because I really don't like the gangsta imagery and the fact that so much rap music is disrespectful to women (and people in general). And finally, despite the fact that my ancestors came from Poland, I cannot stand polka music. It drives me insane.

I can handle country to an extent. I have a pretty broad sense of music. There is some metal I can't do, it's just too hard for me. The one genre that I have not ever been able to get into is Opera. I know its not what people normally think of when they think of a type of music, and that's probably why there isn't a whole of opera radio stations around. I tried to gain an appreciation for it because I know it takes a lot of skill and talent, but I just don't care for it.

Yeah I can usually handle most music, but the one that usually gets to me is heavy Metal. Does't it seems like it is alot of noise? To me it does. It litterely drives me nuts.
