do you agree with the theory "six degrees of separation"?

According to the theory, every person in this world can be connected with only six degrees of separation. If it is true, it would mean that, technically, everybody knows everybody in a way..
do you agree with this theory? why? or why not?

I definitely believe in this theory. With things like facebook it becomes apparant just how much this is true!
It is amazing how many things come full circle too. You know someone. You wouldnt ever expect another friend to know that person, but they do! Or sometimes there is only 1 person in between.
It is almost scary at times to think that everyone probably knows someone that you know!
