I would walk away. I know that to many that is going to be considered to be the wrong thing to do, you can fall in love with anyone and I would not take the chance of having that kind of influence on my children's life.

I just could not risk it. My children and their safety come first. I am not even sure, that if for some reason, I were ever single again that I would remarry while they were young and still living in the home with me.

I think it depends on what he was sentenced for. The severity of his crime definitely affects the answer here, i think. The worse it is the higher of chance dumping him, because past never gives up on you in the future as well.

I agree with Amorti, would definitely depend on the crime for me. Personally, if someone seemed to have all of the qualities I am looking for, it would be hard for me to not want to give them a chance, but at the same time, you have to protect yourself. He's been away for a long time, and I think almost every guy in prison is very lonely and desperate to connect with someone. I would ask yourself how well you know this guy, and if you feel like he is rehabilitated. Wish you the very best of luck friendship4lyfe. Take care!
