Cats can be funny sometimes. You go to all the trouble of buying them a new toy only to get it home and find out they would just prefer to play with the paper bag you carried it home in! Other times they take things from your table or dressing table to play with. Mine like to steal my hair bobbles. They take them when they think I am not looking and hide them under rugs and cushions:)! I did try hiding them in boxes or drawers but they always seem to know where I put them:)! It is just so funny! What things do your cats like to play with that makes you laugh?

Yes paper is definately a favourite amoung my cats too. As well as paper bags, I sometimes make tunnels out of newspaper for mine to crawl through. Sometimes one will just stay under the paper and let the other two cats pounce on it! It is really funny:) Thanks for your post.

Oliver, the little black and white kitten in my avatar - but all grown up now, just loves craft poofs. Actually, he loves all poofs, but I just get the craft ones now because they are cheaper

Ahh! Oliver looks so cute in that picture:) I haven't tried craft poofs with my cats, but it seems like another good idea for a cat toy. Will have to get a couple to try them out. Thanks for the idea.

When I go shopping in a pet shop, I always check out the toys and many times, I have returned with some toys for her. When it is a toy on a bit of string she always seemed to e more interested in the string. She's never very interested in toys that I buy so I make her some instead and she loves them much more than toys that you can buy in the shop. She hates balls with bells in them but loves a ball of kitchen foil. I screw it up in the kitchen and when I come into the living room, her ears are pricked up looking at me. I will give her a cheeky flash and pretend throw it a couple of times before throwing it at the wall. She'll go mad chasing it, catching it, mauling it and then chasing it again. Sometimes she'll keep my up all night with it. She also loves it when I tie a tissue to some thick string and let her chase it around the house.

I never thought of using a screwed up piece of foil as a ball. I bet my cats would love that too. I'm going to give that a try! Thanks for the idea. Talking about the tissue reminds me of when my cats were younger and got into the bathroom. They were like the andrex puppies except for the fact they had actually torn the toilet role to shreds! The bathroom was a mess as you would expect. But I couldn't be angry at those cute cheeky little faces looking back up at me:) Thanks for your post.

I have a crazy kitten that plays with two of the silliest things. The first is his reflection in the class on my daughters porcelain doll cabinet and the other is a scuff mark on my wall. He stands up on his hind legs and goes all ninja kitty them falls backwards. It kills me every time and he has been known to do this over and over again for up to 20 minutes. As a grand finally he has been known to pull a running leap at the offending object ending in a face plant and a very confused looking kitten. I think he may be a little slow but when you're that sweet and cute who cares. Great topic!

My cat loves to play with dog stuff. She will play with their tennis balls by batting them around with her paws. She also enjoys playing with the dogs when they get too curious by hitting them! The cat at less than 20 pounds scares my 50 pound dog!

I used to have a cat that liked scaring my neighbour's dog. Their dog actually got into our garden once and my cat chased it down the street. It is really funny when you consider the size difference, as that was a big dog as well:) The three cats I have now are a bit more timid than he was so I don't think they would do anything like that. Thanks for your message.
