Earnings

I know this may be a sensitive issue and hope that nobody thinks bad of me for raising this subject but it is something that I have had on my mind recently. I have recently had a promotion so am now a Team Leader within a call centre environment. I only received a payrise of 58p per hour but was not too disgruntled by this as it was a job that I would have wanted without the wage increase. However, I also recently heard that you should be earning £1,000 per year of your age. I am 22 so according to this theory should be earnin £22k per annum. My wage works out at £18.1k with up to 10% back on bonuses (a realistic amount is between 7%-8%) and hourly enhancements (Time+1/4 for evening hours on weekdays and Time+1/2 for weekend evenings). I think that with these additional bonuses, I earn about the right amount for the above outlined idealism. Can I ask if anybody else is 'earning for their age'?
