What is an entel pentium processor do and how dose it help your computer work?

Iv always been curious about those things, becuse they advertise them a lot and I never understood what are or what there good for and how they make your computer work better, I mean I know that know that its some kind of computer chip but thats about all I know, so maybe some of you can in lighten me about them.

It is the central processing for all of what you need to show up on your screen.Its the very foundation of making a computer work.
