Vaseline has been touted as one of the best makeup removers around. I have not used this method but would like to know if there are any out there who have and how they feel about it.

I haven't tried this yet. I am not sure which Vaseline product you are referring to. But if it is the petroleum jelly, I might not like to try it... just the thought of it, it might leave that greasy feel on my face. I am happy with just cleansing my face with any facial cleanser. My favorite is Cetaphil. I just think it is very gentle to my skin. It does not sting nor leave the greasy feel on the skin.

It is the petroleum jelly kind. And I failed to say that it is for removing eye makeup. Apparently it is gentle on teh eyes and may even improve the skin around the eyes. I'm not sure. Thanks for responding.

I have looked further into how vaseline is used and it is used for a variety of good stuff pertaining to makeup and not just as a makeup remover. Check this out: http://www.tipking.co.uk/tip/5365.html.

I definitely would not use Vaseline to remove makeup and especially eye makeup. It's a petroleum based product which means that it's made with oil. This type of product would clog the pores. Since the pores around the eyes are so small it's very difficult to unclog them once they become clogged. That's why you see some people with yellowish bumps around their eyes that look similar to pimples. They're not actually pimples but clogged pores. The best eye makeup remover that I have ever used is Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. It's very gentle and has conditioners in it specifically for the eye area. If you have Mary Kay where you are I would try to find a consultant locally. They will give you a chance to try the product to see if you like it before you spend the money to buy it.
