I love to cook. I like to bake as well but I would like to learn how to bake more things from scratch. I found some great local baking classes that are at a really afforable price for me and the location is right near my job. Im thinking about enrolling in one for August or Septemeber. So I was wondering if anyone here on mylot has taken a cooking or baking classes? If you have what was your expirence and if you haven't would you like too!!

I'd love to take some classes in baking etc. I am a decent enough cook but I've nhot really done very much on the baking front and would love to be able to make a cake, or biscuits etc with ease and confidence. I'm sure I could do it from a recipe but I'd like to have a few lessons to give me a bit of confidence with it and to help me if I have any questions.

That is the way I am about baking. Im real good at the prepackaged stuff but I want to learn how to bake things simply from flour, eggs, etc. Thanks for responding!!

Having grown up in a home where my mum was always baking and making things from scratch, I've never used any of the pre mixed stuff at all I've just not really done a great deal of baking. I'd really like to be more confident with it, was thinking at one time about getting my mum to teach me but neither of us have a great deal of time for stuff like that at the moment sadly.

hi as much as i know cooking is an science.....i am saying this because in baking you need to have a great deal of knowledge about the different ingredients that you use.....in baking all the bakery products where invented by the trial and error method.....like you should know the exact amount of yeast that will go in 1 kg bread loaf.......there are fixed ratios in which ingredients have to be added in baking....if you do any mistake in these rations the it will effect your final product.....so i would just suggest you that if you are joining baking classes then make a point to note all the different ratios in which the ingredients have to added in a product......this will help you a lot.....and all the best for your classes.......
