An elderly gunman known to authoritues as a white supermacist fatally shot a private security guard at the US Holocaust museum in downtown Washington today. The man identified as the shooter Von Brunn has a racist, anti Semitic web site and wrote a book titled "Kill the Best Gentiles" alleging a Jewish conspiracy to destroy the white gene pool. Let us all take a moment and say a prayer for Stephen T. Johns who lost his life to this madman today.

Such a waste of life for a wrong reason. There's people out there who's heart and mind are enveloped with thick clouds of hatred and vengeance for all the wrong reason. I hope and pray they will come to light and harm no one.

Maybe somewhere someone is reading this that has the same views as this demented man who lived his life filled with vengeance. . and maybe that someone will think differently when he sees what all that wasted energy has produced. I am with you in that prayer .. let Love and Light shine in all our lives and let us fill the world with love . . .

I believe he has a problem with his brain. A person in the age of 88 shoots a security guard is for sure there is something mentally wrong. May Stephan's soul rest in peace.

amen angelmokka.... mentally wrong with a lot of hate in his heart . . that is the saddest part of all. Maybe if someone at sometime in his life showed him some love maybe he wouldnt be so mentally disturbed to have to go out and do something like this. It is a sad day for all. Peace be with us, everyone

I am sad for the young man and don't know if he has a wife or anything; but still I know that there is someone mourning his loss tonight; Yes I will pray for his family. It is sad when you cannot go to your job and someone doesn't shoot at you or anything; that is the good Lord's providence.

For such an old guy he should have learned his lessons in life already. To be this full of spite at an advanced age is really pitiful of him. The security guard is now being recognized as a hero for standing up to this hate-monger.

and a hero Stephen Tyrone Jones is. I know that probably is the last thing his family is feeling today but I hope as they heal and try to make sense out of the lose of such a young and brave man they can take that with them as they go on remembering him. as for the gunman .. You can not hate other people without hating yourself Maybe he should ponder that as he rots away like an animal locked up in a cage.

I saw the headline about this, and haven't seen much yet, but I am with you we should take a moment to think about this man who was doing his job. Things like this make me so sad, and make me wonder exactly how bad society is getting.

very sad how the world is at the moment, so full of hate, usually people at this age have come to the meaning of life and have thoughts of peace, obviously he had deep nasty issues...

lilaclady I could not agree with you more. . . James Von Brun must have had one sad life for him to have come to this. Deep nasty issues to say the least. It is so sad that Stephen Tyrone Jones woke up this morning and left his house like he has for the past 6 years . . had to pay the consequences for the sick existence of one 89 year old man who had nothing in his heart but hate.

I am sorry to hear that. I don't understand why people are racists. In 2009, people should have more respect for each other. Take care.

How sad that man had to die. What are wrong with people anymore? My prayers go out to him and his family. This world seems to be turning into one great big mess. I pray over our country all the time. It needs it.

I was shocked and horrified to read this headline when I got home from work today. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr John's family. A profoundly senseless loss of life. I look forward to the day we all learn to live at peace with each other.
