hi friends.i hope everyone of you must have watched both india's matches against bangladesh and ireland.lets rewind to the last world cup in 2007.south africa never lost a single match untill the day they lost to india in the super 8 .all it took is one lose to puish the so far undefeated team out of the tournament and i believe the reason is comparitively low net run rate.the proteas learned their leason very well and won a match against the scot with a huge margin of 130 runs and it boosted up their net run rate very well. but indians on the other hand had the best oppurtunity to get an even better net run rate as they were grouped with 2 minnow teams and guess what?they won against bangladesh with a margin of 20+ and won the match against ireland with only 18 balls remaining.dont you think that it should have been 50 + rather than 20 +?with such team with tremendous striking power, they should have won the match in the 12th or 13 th over?thats where we were missing sehwag.if he starts, there is no cooling period.btw what the heck Dhoni is doing at number 3?why raina didnt get to bat even at number 4 position? did he expect raina to be at number 3 against big teams when he doesnt get to bat much?

no stardust i actually did not watch the two matches but managed to catch the highlights. i think dhoni intends to keep batting at number there and only he knows why raina is kept at number for although he is in such good form. but if dhoni gets off the to a start in one of the matches then it could be a winning knock for India. but it does not mater now what their run rate was against the two teams they have already played and dhoni would have known it is better to just win the matches then go after a better run rate when it is not needed. in the super eight stage all the teams start from scratch and the net run rate will be at the back of everyone's mind especially after what happened to south Africa in the t20 world championship in t20. sehwag is gone now so no use of talking about him. we should just concentrate on the group of players available and how they can play to the best of their ability.
