Recently, I am happy and no problem about one of my pc. But then after days it turns out to be a hell because of that BSOD threat, I hate it!. I only change the location of my pc because it's raining, then after I put on all the cord then power on, windows load normally. It always stop when I access one of these: yahoo messenger, limewire, itunes, internet explorer. After running that, blue screen showed and info like: nv4_disp appeared. I don't know what to do, I tried updating vga drivers but it doesn't work at all. Here's the specs of my pc: motherboard-P4M800PRO-M3, AGP video card-INNO3d FX5500 128MB OS-XP sp2

Hi there! You can usually get that error screen because of faulty hardware (you know, malfunctioning memory, etc.) or poorly-written device drivers. But since you've mentioned accessing Limewire, perhaps you have downloaded a virus that targets the kernel of your OS. Just try cleaning your computer and check for viruses and other malicious software. Good Luck.

The issue that points to "NVP_DISP" has nothing to do with a virus. If say he did have a virus in his computer that would be a seperate different issue. But as you said yes it is a faulty hardware device in his system.

Hi perl23! BSOD errors comes when there is a "BAD MEMORY MODULES" problem.... and blue screen show error location like 0x0000008E this addresses and many applications stop running when they try to access that location... Goto this address for information! http://aumha.org/win5/a/kernel32.htm and goto this forum that have some software link u can use! http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-676192.php or try to clean your RAM with eraser and put it back... Best Regards, Tayyab Zafar

Not all the time though. Various BSOD errors happen in different cases. Usually RAM errors from a BSOD would mean after the BSOD occurred then the system restarts the computer then blacks out with no screen, constant lockups, not able to reinstall Windows and much more. Even if he did a MemCheck I guarantee his RAM would pass with no issues. Therefore his issue is not a RAM memory issue.

Your said it's raining, are your computer get wet? Or might be the equipments not tighten. I even have my computer wet, and I would wait until dry out. I am also have my PC get blue screen and not anymore because I already tighten all of my equipments. The driver or corrupt files also can make your computer have blue screen.

I've been going through the same BSOD hell as you recently. It had happened about eight times this past year on my Macbook Pro. What would cause it to have faulty hardware?
