HI I have fed both of my children myself and am still feeding my youngest, she will be one next month and still seems to rely on the milk for comfort. I feel that it is ok and I will stop soon as I dont want her to rely on it for much longer. I have heard of people feeding their children into teen years and beyond, although I have to say this is not something I would feel comfortable doing, I would like to know your views on how long is right to continue to give your child mothers milk. I have noticed recently that a lot of people who start give up and turn to bottle within a few days weeks or months. I have really enjoyed the fact I am giving my child what nature provided but it is soon time for me to stop. I would love to hear your experiences and views on this.

I have heard of people feeding their children into teen years and beyond WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? okay THAT is beyond disturbing to me in so many ways and on so many levels... to answer your question, really it depends on the mothers lifestyle and life, the babys desire and so on....I nursed my oldest until he was 7 1/2 months old but then he started cutting teeth and bit me (breakin the skin) so it was time to wean him..My daughter however I could only nurse for the first 5 weeks becaue I had to go back to work and with my stress level the way it was I wasnt producing enough milk for her anyway.....My youngest I only got to nurse a couple of times because he was in NICU (he was a preemie) BUT I pumped my milk throughout the day to send up to the hospital for him the 5-6 months he was there..
